Zhang Chen

        Zhang Chen, Director Ph.D, M.D, Chief Physician, Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor Prof. Zhang received Ph.D. degree in clinical medicine in Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2010 and was a visiting scholar at the Department of Psychology, University of Nebraska–Lincoln, America. He did postdoctoral research in the Key Laboratory of Animal Model and Human Disease Mechanism, Kunming Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences during 2012-2013.He is the vice chairman of Youth Commission of Chinese Society of Neuroscience & Psychiatry, a member of the Schizophrenia Research Cooperation Group of Psychiatry Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of Sleep Related Disorders Group of Chinese Behavioral Medical Association, a member of Sleep Related Disorders Group of Chinese Behavioral Medicine Association, a youth member of the Psychiatric Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, a member of Psychiatrist Branch of Shanghai Medical Doctor Association. He also serves as editorial board of Neurosci Bull and Gen Psychiatry. Dr. Zhang has been engaged in clinical and basic studies associated with schizophrenia. He found short-term use and long-term use of second generation antipsychotics had different effects on cognitive function in patients with schizophrenia, and preliminary elaborated the cellular electrophysiological and molecular mechanisms. He worked on the function and mechanism of the susceptibility genes of schizophrenia from multiple levels, combined with human genetics, bioinformatics and neurobiology. His primary goal is to explore the genetic mechanisms and pathogenesis of schizophrenia, providing biomarkers and therapeutic targets for diagnosis and prognosis, so as to prevent and treat schizophrenia ultimately. In the past 5 years, he has published 36 papers as the first author or corresponding author in different SCI indexed international journals, such as Mol Psychiatry, Am J Psychiatry, Br J Psychiatry, and J Clin Psychiatry. He was authorized l national patent, and has undertaken 3 projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and a number of ministerial and provincial scientific research projects. He was selected as the scholar of “the New 100 Talent Program of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine”in 2011, “Shanghai Municipal Education Commission - Gaofeng Clinical Medicine Grant Support”in 2015, and“Shanghai Excellent Academic Leaders Program”in 2020. 。
