The Emergency Plan in Laboratory

1. The Emergency Plan in Laboratory is applicable to accidents within the laboratory that endanger personal safety and health, including the accidents related with water, electricity, fire, and biological safety.
2. The Emergency Response Team in the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology is responsible for the initiation and implementation of emergency plans, and is responsible for organizing emergency response to emergency safety accidents.
3. After a safety incident, the Emergency Team Leader immediately activates the emergency plan after receiving a report from the on-site personnel.
4. After receiving the report, the leader activates the Emergency Plan in Laboratory, and informs the emergency team members to rush to the scene as soon as possible, and at the same time make the first report to SMHC. After the team members arrive at the scene, they will investigate and evaluate the accident at the scene, and conduct emergency response according to the actual situation and work responsibilities.
5. Within 24 hours of the accident, the parties involved in the incident and the department write a report on the incident and submit it to the superior. Any on-site exposed personnel should receive medical consultation and isolation observation, and take appropriate preventive treatment measures. The Emergency Team also supplemented and corrected the first report of the accident.
6. Post-accident handling includes after-treatment and investigation summary. Within 10 working days after the incident is handled, the Leader of the Emergency Team will report to the the superior, including the basic situation of the incident, reasons, emergency response process, existing problems, and put forward suggestions for rectification and prevention in the future.
7. The Emergency Plan in Laboratory will be implemented from January 1, 2021.
